The Birth of the Moka Maker
The Moka pot was invented in 1933 by Italian engineer Alfonso Bialetti, who transformed home coffee brewing with a simple aluminum pot powered by steam pressure.
It quickly brought espresso-style coffee into everyday kitchens and became a symbol of Italian coffee culture. More than 200 million Moka pots have been sold since — its design still nearly unchanged because some inventions are perfect from the start.

Gingerbread Coffee Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly brewed coffee (100% Arabica works beautifully)
- 2–3 tbsp milk or plant milk
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- A pinch of nutmeg
- A pinch of cloves (optional)
- Whipped cream (optional but festive!)
Instructions:
- Brew your coffee using your favourite method.
- In a small bowl or cup, mix the ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and sweetener.
- Add a splash of hot coffee and stir until the spices dissolve.
- Pour in the rest of the coffee and stir well.
- Warm the milk and froth it (optional), then add it to your spiced coffee.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for a perfect gingerbread touch.
